1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DSEconMentor ("the Service", "we", "us", "our") at www.dseconmentor.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service immediately.

2. Description of Service

DSEconMentor is an AI-powered tutoring platform designed to assist HKDSE (Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education) Economics students. The Service provides AI chat tutoring, structured practice questions, flashcard study tools, study notes, past paper resources, and related educational content. The Service is intended for educational and personal study purposes only.

3. User Accounts

• • You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
• • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• • You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service.
• • One account per user is permitted. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits is prohibited.
• • You must not share your account credentials with others.

4. Subscription Plans and Payments

• • Free accounts are subject to daily usage limits (currently 5 AI chat questions per day).
• • Pro and Premium subscriptions provide increased or unlimited access as described on the pricing page.
• • All subscription fees are billed through Stripe. By subscribing you authorise recurring charges.
• • Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
• • You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
• • Failed or declined payments will result in an immediate downgrade to the Free tier until payment is resolved.
• • We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable advance notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• • Use the Service for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial education.
• • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, hack, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• • Upload images or content that is unlawful, offensive, defamatory, or unrelated to economics education.
• • Upload copyrighted material without authorisation, except where permitted by fair use or applicable law.
• • Redistribute, resell, or share premium content, study notes, or flashcards with third parties.
• • Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to interact with the Service.
• • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.

6. AI-Generated Content

Responses generated by our AI systems (powered by Google Gemini and other third-party AI providers) are produced algorithmically and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You acknowledge that:

• • AI responses are intended to supplement, not replace, formal education, teachers, or official study materials.
• • You should independently verify any information before relying on it for examination preparation.
• • We do not guarantee that AI responses are correct, complete, or up to date.
• • AI-generated content does not constitute professional, academic, or examination advice.

7. Third-Party Examination Content

Past examination papers and related materials made available through this Service are sourced from the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) and are reproduced solely for non-commercial educational reference. All such materials remain the intellectual property of the HKEAA. DSEconMentor makes no claim of ownership over HKEAA content. If you believe any content infringes your rights, please contact us at dseconmentor@gmail.com.

8. Intellectual Property

• • All original content, features, branding, and software of the Service are owned by DSEconMentor and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
• • You retain ownership of content you upload (e.g. images). By uploading, you grant us a limited licence to process and store that content solely to provide the Service to you.
• • Study notes, flashcard templates, and curated educational materials are proprietary content of DSEconMentor and may not be copied, redistributed, or reproduced without written permission.
• • AI-generated responses are service output and are not independently owned by you or us; you may use them for personal study purposes.

9. Advertising

The Service displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Ads are delivered by Google and may be personalised based on your browsing behaviour in accordance with Google's advertising policies. We do not control the content of advertisements. You may opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ad Settings.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the Service is entirely at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DSEconMentor and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or examination results, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or for any other legitimate reason. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature survive termination (including Sections 7, 8, 10, 11, and 13) shall continue to apply.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong SAR, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or by email to registered users. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
